Outreach Services
Our outreach services can be commissioned directly by parents/carers, home schools or local authorities. Eastern Outreach provides tutoring and mentoring to support children and young people who are either out of mainstream education or are struggling to attend and achieve full time at their home school.
How it Works
● We deliver our sessions in 2 or 3 hour blocks. This can take place in the child or young person’s home ( with another adult present) or in a community space like a library or cafe.
● We can deliver academic tutoring, life skills mentoring or a mix of the two.
● We can support the child or young person to complete work that has been planned and resourced by their home school.
● We can provide literacy and numeracy teaching for children and young people who are not in school at all.
● Where appropriate the children and young people we support will work with us to complete and achieve ASDAN Lifeskills Challenges in relevant academic and vocational areas of interest.
● Mentoring sessions may include *activities away from the home like indoor climbing, sports, walks., trips to libraries/museums/parks (*Dependent on satisfactory risk assessments being in place and whether appropriate for the young person.)
● Eastern Outreach can conduct an Irlen Screening Assessment for the child or young person. Please note, this is an additional cost.
● If a child or young person has an EHCP, the content, along with any relevant risk assessments and/or medical information, will need to be shared with our team prior to any support sessions, to ensure we can meet their needs.
